The Committee of 100 was founded in 1990 by a group of concerned Chinese Americans who are leaders in their fields. They recognized the need for an organization that brings an Asian-American perspective to U.S. relations with the largest continent in the world and to address the concerns of Americans of Chinese/Asian heritage.
The Committee of 100 has become a voice for the enhancement of relations between the U.S. and the Greater China region. By having an in-depth understanding of both cultures, the Committee can enhance American understanding of China, as well as enhance China’s understanding of the United States.
And the Committee is proud to be leading the effort for building “The United Chinese of America” exhibit at the U.S. Pavilion for “World Expo 2010 Shanghai China.”
The USA Pavilion at the Expo will present a dynamic, emotional story that highlights strong core values shared by both the Chinese and American people. It extols the fundamental belief that America is a place of opportunity where those who seek to change the world for the better will always have a chance to thrive and prosper.
